Dry Wells
An underground gravel or chamber reservoir that gives collected water somewhere to go when there's no gravity outlet.
Overview
When a property doesn't have a natural low point to daylight water to, we install a dry well — a buried gravel pit or perforated chamber that holds water and lets it slowly absorb back into the soil. Dry wells are the standard endpoint for French drains, downspout drains, and catch basins on flatter lots.
Signs you might need this
- No natural slope or low point to drain water toward
- A neighbor's property line too close for surface discharge
- An existing drain system with nowhere for the water to exit
